Zadie Smith is one of the world’s preeminent fiction and non-fiction writers.
Professor Finney herself is a talented orator, and extremely approachable if need be. The mind in question was the English novelist Zadie Smith‘s, and the dismantling turned out to be a 9,000-word essay on two well-received recent novels: Joseph O’Neill’s Netherland and Tom McCarthy’s Remainder. Zadie Smith is the author of the novels White Teeth, The Autograph Man, On Beauty, NW, and Swing Time, as well as two collections of essays, Changing My Mind and Feel Free.Zadie was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature in 2002, and was listed as one of Granta's 20 Best Young British Novelists in 2003 and again in 2013.
Zadie Smith is the author of the novels White Teeth, The Autograph Man, On Beauty, NW and Swing Time, as well as three collections of essays, Changing My Mind, Feel Free and Intimations, and a collection of short stories, Grand Union.. White Teeth won multiple awards, including the James Tait Black Memorial Prize, the Whitbread First Novel Award and the Guardian First Book Award. My only complaint was that two readers were required for the class, they were each almost $60, and you didn't need them AT ALL for the exams. Her novels include White Teeth, The Autograph Man, On Beauty, and Swing Time, among others; and her many non-fiction works on a range of subjects from pop culture to politics are collected in Changing My Mind: Occasional Essays and 2018’s Feel Free.
She joins other senior tenured faculty members E.L. Doctorow, Yusef Komunyakaa, and Sharon Olds, as well as Global Distinguished Professor Breyten Breytenbach. Find & rate …
